GENERAL DESCRIPTIONS

The BASI BLT100 level transmitter is an float level transmitter. The operating principle is based on a consecutive switching of the cascaded reed switches by the special magnetic float, moving alongside a protective tube. The reed switches act on the elements of a resistor

matrix, changing the total matrix resistance in linear proportionality with the measuring level. The BLT100 provides a 2-wire 4 to 20 mA output signal with 6 or 12mm level resolution. An integrated loop-powered programmable LCD indicator is also available. Using this smart device, equipped with only two hidden buttons, the operator can realize display range programming, device calibration, or programming of the alarm outputs. The outputs (Open Collector type) can drive two external relays as alarms or simple ON/OFF control. The BLT100

level transmitter is very useful in applications where ultrasonic or capacitive transmitters would not work because of the foam, dense vapor, or non-homogeneous gas layer above the liquid surface. In case of Ex applications, an intrinsically safe power supply unit or a Zener-barrier must be used.
